Users are being logged off unexpectedly i.e. more frequently than the default session timeout of 20 minutes.

You may see the following error message:

"Your session has expired."

Or you are redirected to the logon page when clicking a link.


An antivirus scanner touching the files in the Squared Up directory, which causes the application pool to automatically recycle, and so the user session is lost.


The following folder needs to added to your antivirus exclusions or exceptions list:


or C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SquaredUpv2

(depending on where Squared Up is installed, for example, C: or D: SquaredUp or SquaredUpv2)

Squared Up uses a default session timeout of 20 minutes. Dashboard displays will automatically keep the session open (so as long as the dashboard is being shown, the session will not timeout). However, you can also increase the session timeout:

If you are using McAfee and you are experiencing several refreshes when logging into Squared Up, then you may need to implement Version 8.8.07 in order to resolve this issue. Notes on this can be found here.
