Editing a Split in the xml

Some splits can be difficult to achieve in the dashboard designer, so you can edit the split in the xml file:

  1. Locate your XML
    If your dashboard is a draft locate your XML through C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SquaredUpv2\UserProfiles\ using the end of your URL to identify your dashboard.
    If your dashboard is published you can locate your XML through C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SquaredUpv2\Configuration\Views.
  2. Locate the section you would like the split using the section title <Title>Section Name</Title> as an indicator.
  3. Using the <Split> tag you can create a split which surrounds the section. Use the <Left> or <Right> tag to specify where the section is split. Use <Width> tag to edit the size of these sections.
  4. Saving and refreshing your Squared Up dashboard will allow you to view your new split in edit.

Below is an example of a split with a 50% width.

<Sections>
    <Split>
        <Width>50</Width>
	    <Left>
	        <Section>
		</Section>
            </Left>
	    <Right>
	        <Section>
		</Section>
	    </Right>
    </Split>
</Sections>

 To add a horizontal split use the following:

  <Sections>
    <Split>
      <Width>50</Width>
       <Left>
        <Section>
          <Id>1464020434314</Id>
	</Section>
       </Left>
       <Right />
    </Split>
    <Split>
      <Width>50</Width>
        <Left />
        <Right />
    </Split>
  </Sections>

Half-split, thirds-split
