When you first log on to Squared Up to run through the Setup and configure the data warehouse connection you should log on as a user who is a SCOM Admin AND a SQL sysadmin user.  This is so that the Setup wizard can configure the data warehouse connection for you automatically.

If your user is a SCOM Admin but NOT a SQL sysadmin you will get an error configuring the data warehouse connection.  You can make your user a SQL sysadmin by following this article, or you can configure the data warehouse permissions manually

How to make a user a SQL sysadmin user

1. In the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, expand Security, then expand Logins

2. If your user already has a login listed here, go to the Properties of this user. If no login is listed for your user then you need to create a SQL login, so right-click on Logins and select New Login

3. Click on Server Roles.

4. Check sysadmin so that it is ticked.

5. Click OK.

If you still have problems configuring the data warehouse connection you can configure the permissions manually see Configuring Data Warehouse Permissions Manually.
