Squared Up displays performance metrics as graphs, sparklines and bar charts. To show these performance metrics, Squared Up connects to the SCOM data warehouse using its IIS application pool identity. After installation the setup wizard auto-configures the data warehouse connection for you. It gives the Squared Up application pool account a SQL Server login with the OpsMgrReader role for the SCOM data warehouse database.

How to configure the data warehouse connection:

1. Through the Squared Up setup wizard following installation.  See Getting Started - Installing Squared Up

2. From the Diagnostics page, see Configuring Data Warehouse Permissions through the Diagnostics page

3. Manually, see Configuring Data Warehouse Permissions Manually

Networking

The Squared Up web server also needs to make a network connection to the SCOM data warehouse server on port 1433. If you have a firewall then you may need to configure it appropriately. See Which ports do I need to open in my Firewall?

Troubleshooting

If performance graphs, sparklines or bar charts are not shown, then see the article on how to troubleshoot the data warehouse connection.
