Symptoms

Can't connect to Operations Manager.

The Squared Up website can't connect to Operations Manager. It looks like the server '<servername>' is online, but the System Center Data Access service is not running or not installed.

The Data Access service is either not running or not yet initialized.

Cause

The data access service is not running / has temporarily stopped on your SCOM server, blocking communication between Squared Up and SCOM.

Resolution

1. On your SCOM server open Services.

2. Check that the service 'System Center Data Access Service' is running, if this is not, manually restart / start the service.
