This article only applies to Squared Up Version 2.0. If you're looking for help with Squared Up Version 3.0, please visit our new knowledge base

Squared Up can be removed (uninstalled) by using the standard Windows 'Programs and Features' control panel.

Please backup your dashboards and user profiles before uninstalling by backing up the following files and folders:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SquaredUpv2\Maps (if you have it)

If the uninstall fails, sometimes the progress bar will appear to 'rewind' and go backwards. The process will stop without any errors, but Squared Up will still be visible in the 'Programs and Features' list.

  • Retry uninstallation after having manually stopping the Squared Up website and the associated application pool Sometimes IIS can hold a lock on website settings in such a way that the Squared Up uninstaller cannot change them. To stop the website and the associated application pool, use the "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager" application (which can generally be found via a search on the Windows start menu).

The web site used is generally "Squared Up" (or "Squared Up v<major version>") and the application pool typically has a matching name

  • (For version 2.0+) Make Squared Up the live version before uninstalling.
